Rhiannon Comes to Chile Acres

We want to thank Janet Tulloch a fine breeder of Cheviot Sheep for the opportunity to own Rhiannon (formerly Daisy) from her flock.  Rhiannon was raised by bottle without a mother and became a celebrity in a photo studio posing with children for Easter and Spring portraits.  She loves people and they love her soft little self too!

Newest Member of the Family

Strange looking goat?  Nope!  This is our new lamb and her mom.  The lamb is one day old in this picture taken last week on the sheep ranch, Canyon Wren owned by Cathy Gorman of the Navajo Sheep Assoc.  We enjoyed our day at the grassy and green canyon discussing sheep and fiber with Cathy.  This little girl will be coming home in July along with her sister.

Here is the proud pop!  Isn’t he a looker?  Last summer Celia took Navajo weaving and she is addicted to churro wool.  Her friend Caroline has been teaching her to dye wool over the fall and winter.  With such a beautiful lamb who needs dye?  Of course we bought a white sister to this one (who wouldn’t stand still for her picture) so we can still dye wool and our fingers, and our sink, and our kitchen, etc….

Chili Harvest Begins to Heat UP

Our chilies are beginning to produce after the long winter months.  Under the protection of our big Mesquite tree and near the moisture of our koi pond they stuck out the winter and are producing fruit for us now.  As you can see we have a wide variety of sizes, types, and range of heat.  We have everything from purple to chocolate in color!  These chilies will be featured in Barn Goddess Cheese and also in our new gluten free items under our company Fresh From the Goddess with our good friend and fantastic baker Rowie!  Come warm up and enjoy the health benefits of fresh chili peppers!  They are good sources for vitamin C and have antidepressant qualities too!
